# Overview

This project was a short pass of small Studio UI refinements after the recent dock, panel, timeline, and effects refactors. The goal was not to reopen those larger projects. The goal was to smooth the remaining rough edges that stood out because the broader structure was already in place.

The project focused on label placement inside the layer trim row, tooltip consistency, panel button active state, a panel-drag bug during playback, tab spacing in `New Compositions`, and clearer render/export affordances. The intended result was a tighter, calmer, more consistent surface without expanding into deeper architecture or new feature work.

# Scope

* MUST improve layout, feedback, and control clarity in the Studio dock and adjacent panels.
* MUST keep the work bounded to polish and small interaction fixes rather than deeper model or playback architecture changes.
* MUST normalize the `New Compositions` tab spacing mismatch.
* MUST improve render/export affordances and status feedback in the dock.
* MUST keep panel visibility controls and active state legible across focus changes.
* MUST NOT reopen broader dock, playback, or panel architecture questions as part of this pass.
